Mystery in the Woods

The wind breeze is calling. It was a humid summer vacation, as always be. I usually spent out my summer vacation in my grandparents' house, ever since I was a child.

My first summer vacation came. A scorching summer. Flowers are blooming almost everyday, so as my dress. I'm a jolly kid, that's what my parents said.

Near the woods, I played a lot to satisfy myself. The day come when I suddenly heard voices echoing from the woods. It made myself curious. I went into the woods to discover it, unfortunately I ended up being lost. It leaves me hopeless so I cried out loudly hoping for someone to help me. My dress is covered from dirt and almost torned apart after stumbling onto rock I've encountered just to find out whose voice it is. The course of the wind suddenly changed. It become cold and I get some kind of creepy feeling. Someone appeared behind me. I got scared so I continued to cry more loudly. He stared at me util I calmed down. I observed his face and found out that he's not scary at all but he isn't smiling. He won't talk but it seems like he's telling me something. I found out that he's offering me some help.

I talked about myself while on our way out of the woods, just to cut the akward space between us. I continue to talk but he doesn't response at all. At last we're near to the outside, then he finally speak. He should not leave the woods as he said. Also, he asked me that if I could come back for tomorrow to play and I agreed. We said goodbye to each other yet still he does not smile. I also thanked him for help he provided and after I blink my eye he's surprisingly gone.

Another day came. As I woke up early in the morning, I prepare my things to be brought outside. The sun shone upon my skin. I walked happily and excited. I waited outside the woods thought that he'll be there waiting for me but he's not. I enter the woods again by myself to find him and I discovered this old shrine inside the the woods. He was waiting for me there staring at the view. I was about to touch him to surprise him but he moved supernaturaly fast away from me. It leaves me hanging. I thought he hates me but he suddenly start talking about himself.

He was some kind of spirit that should not be touch by humans nor leave the woods. He was also human before, he was left inside the woods when he was a newborn baby. He almost died since his immune system is weak. The mountain god made him a spirit so he could continue living. He won't age nor die. Unfortunately it was my last summer vacation after grade school. I didn't said goodbye properly.

Middle school has begun. Many summer vacation passed that I didn't went to my grandparents' house. I got so busy until high school. I missed all my chance to visit him. After high school graduation I rushed to my grandparents' house. I immediately went to the woods excitingly want to see him. I never thought that he was still waiting for me so I was surprised when I finally saw him. I was so happy my tears are dropping. He gladly smiled onto me and suddenly he hugged me despite the consequences. Fireflies appeared suddenly. It surrounded him and magically turned him back to human. I was so glad that he didn't disappear. It was true love that lifted the condition and made us together.
